alfa Stylo to support the advertising business of the WESER-KURIER media group in future

The WESER-KURIER media group (Bremer Tageszeitungen AG) publishes one of the largest German city newspapers with the WESER-KURIER. The print portfolio is supplemented by the main titles Bremer Nachrichten, Verdener Nachrichten, the Sunday paper KURIER AM SONNTAG as well as seven regional editions and five district editions. In the distribution area, which extends over the city of Bremen and the surrounding area of Lower Saxony, the editorial offices inform daily about all important topics and news from Bremen and the world - printed in the newspaper, digitally in an e-paper, in the news portal weser-kurier.de, their own news app, via Twitter and Facebook or the Bundesliga app "Mein Werder" launched in 2017.

The company has now decided to use the leading browser-based layout editor alfa Stylo. With alfa Stylo classifieds or professionally designed ads can be produced quickly and easily. The editor can be used “in-house” as well as in call centres or in branches. Needless to say, it may be used by private as well as commercial customers such as brokers, dealers or undertakers via an online service centre. alfa Stylo is based on the latest technological standards (HTML 5) and is thus uniformly available for the most important browsers. The user can work in his accustomed WYSIWYG (“What you see is what you get”) mode. In doing so, alfa Stylo can do without a server-side rendering process. The interface is reduced to the essential functions, so that only a minimum of training is necessary. Extensive design aids, which can be called up via context menus, automate the production process for classified ads. An important advantage of this approach is that the necessary basic functionality is provided by the browser and no plug-ins are required. A client-side installation is no longer required; the connection of external workstations and cloud-based solutions is ideally supported.

At the WESER-KURIER media group, the alfa Stylo is used as a server-based component for the end user in the online service centre of VRS Media. This will allow customers in the future to place classifieds, photo ads as well as design ads over the internet, without taking into account business hours.

The integration of alfa Stylo creates a future-proof online platform which ensures the long-term success of the WESER-KURIER media group brands in the internet business. The project is implemented and realised by the IT service provider MSP (media system partner) in Bremen.
